Terms of Use

Please read these terms before you send a request. The most important point: a request is not an appointment, and nothing is booked until the pharmacy confirms.

Agreeing to these terms

These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and Medical Supply Services LLC (“VaxFinder,” “we,” “us”). By using the VaxFinder website or sending a request, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the service. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.

What VaxFinder does — and doesn't

VaxFinder lets you search for pharmacies near you and send a request for help arranging a seasonal flu shot visit. An operator reviews your request, contacts you, and checks with the pharmacy you chose.

  • A request is not an appointment. The date and time you choose are preferences. A visit is confirmed only when the pharmacy confirms it, and we show your request as “Confirmed” only after that happens.
  • We don't guarantee that a pharmacy has vaccine available, can see you or everyone in your request, will see you at your preferred time, will accept your insurance, or will charge a particular price. Coverage and cost are decided by your plan and the pharmacy.
  • We don't give vaccines and we're not a pharmacy, clinic, or government agency.
  • You are always free to contact a pharmacy directly, book with it yourself, or use any other option.

Using VaxFinder to search and send a request is free of charge. Any cost for the vaccine or for giving it is between you, your insurance plan, and the pharmacy.

Not medical advice

Nothing on VaxFinder is medical advice. General information on our site, such as what official sources say about flu shots and insurance, is provided for convenience and may change. Our operators aren't health care professionals. Ask a pharmacist or your doctor whether a vaccine is right for you or your family. In a medical emergency, call 911.

Who may use VaxFinder

You must be at least 18 years old to send a request. You may include members of your household or people you care for, such as your children or a parent, but only if you have their permission (or are their parent or legal guardian) to share their information with us and the pharmacy.

Requests are currently accepted for pharmacies in: AL, AK, AZ, AR, CA, CO, CT, DE, DC, FL, GA, HI, ID, IL, IN, IA, KS, KY, LA, ME, MD, MA, MI, MN, MS, MO, MT, NE, NV, NH, NJ, NM, NY, NC, ND, OH, OK, OR, PA, RI, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VT, VA, WA, WV, WI, WY.

Accurate information

Please give accurate information, and only the information the form asks for. Use a phone number or email address that belongs to you or that you're allowed to use. If something changes, tell us or cancel the request. Keep your access code private: anyone who has it with your reference number can see the status of your request and cancel it.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • send requests using bots, scripts, or other automated means, or try to get around our bot check or rate limits;
  • send false, duplicate, or prank requests, or requests in someone else's name without their permission;
  • harass, threaten, or abuse our staff or pharmacy staff;
  • scrape or copy our listings or pages in bulk, or use them to build a competing database;
  • try to access requests that aren't yours, our staff tools, or our systems without authorization, or interfere with how the service runs;
  • use VaxFinder for anything unlawful.

We may refuse or cancel requests, or block access, if we reasonably believe these terms were broken.

Third-party information

Pharmacy listings come from OpenStreetMap, a public map edited by volunteers, and ZIP code locations come from GeoNames. Map tiles come from OpenFreeMap. Listings may be out of date or wrong — including names, addresses, phone numbers, hours, and services. We mark which listings our team has verified and when, but even verified details can change. Always confirm with the pharmacy.

Links to other websites, such as CDC or vaccines.gov, are provided for your convenience. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content.

No affiliation or endorsement

VaxFinder is independent. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or partnered with any pharmacy, pharmacy chain, health plan, or government agency. Pharmacy and chain names appear only to identify locations from public data, and their trademarks belong to their owners. Listing a pharmacy is not an endorsement of it, and our search results are sorted by distance, not by payment.

Intellectual property

The VaxFinder name, logo, illustrations, site design, and original text belong to Medical Supply Services LLC. You may use the site for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. Map and listing data remain subject to their own licenses (OpenStreetMap under the ODbL, GeoNames under CC BY 4.0); see our data sources.

Disclaimers

VaxFinder is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We don't promise the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that a visit will be arranged.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, VaxFinder and its operators, staff, and service providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for the acts or omissions of any pharmacy, including whether it gives a vaccine, its prices, or its care. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100).

Some states don't allow certain of these limits, so they may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Indemnity

If you break these terms or the law while using VaxFinder — for example, by submitting someone's information without permission — you agree to cover reasonable losses and costs that result for us, to the extent the law allows.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of TN, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where the law of the state you live in requires otherwise. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located there, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it elsewhere.

Changes and ending use

We may update these terms. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when. Changes apply from the time they're posted and don't affect requests already sent, unless you agree. You can stop using VaxFinder and cancel a request at any time. We may change or stop the service; if we stop it, we'll let people with open requests know.
